This two-day workshop is designed to provide professionals working with families, retailers, manufacturers and babywearing enthusiasts with the information and skills required to safely advocate for babywearing in their practice.
We believe strongly in the parent/infant stage and we welcome your baby to join you in class. The hands on nature of this course does make it difficult to complete with children older than babies.
*Please note that at the completion of the training you will receive the following:
If you are interested in helping families with their babywearing needs of any kind (selecting carriers for purchase, trying on different styles/brands of carriers, helping families with special wearing needs for either the wearer or the child etc) you should absolutely take this training. If you want to do any kind of consulting, paid or volunteer, in the babywearing industry, you should absolutely take this training.
You will understand the different carrier types, different carrier positions, safe and unsafe positioning for the child, as well as learn about many different carrier brands and styles to fully prepare you to assist families you will be serving. The Canadian Babywearing School and these trainings are known all over Canada and the United States as being the industry standard for excellence in the babywearing industry.
Yes, you need to complete your Educator training (Level 1) before completing your Consultant training (Level 2).
Level I is $375 CAD for the 2 days of training.
Payment plans are not available.
While each trainer does have a large supplier of current baby carriers to try on and play with for the trainings, it is advisable that you bring 1 buckle carrier, 1 sling-style carrier, 1 wrap-style carrier and 1 Meh Dei style carrier, if you have them.
The training is approximately 7 hours each day.
